Summary
Provost & Pritchard is seeking a standout Senior Environmental Consultant who’s ready to make an impact. You’ll lead high-profile hazardous materials and indoor air quality (IAQ) projects, guide clients through complex environmental challenges, and help shape the future of our environmental services group. We’re looking for a California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) with strong experience in asbestos, lead, and IAQ assessments, project delivery, and client communication. This role offers the opportunity to provide technical leadership, mentor a talented team, and contribute to strategic business development.
Duties
- Lead and manage asbestos, lead-based paint, and hazardous building materials surveys and assessments.
- Plan, conduct, and interpret indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations, including mold, VOCs, allergens, and comfort parameters.
- Develop sampling strategies, data quality objectives, and project approaches for hazardous materials and IAQ projects.
- Oversee abatement and remediation projects, including contractor oversight, air monitoring, and clearance testing.
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, management plans, specifications, and regulatory documentation.
- Serve as primary client contact for assigned projects, providing clear communication, scheduling, and issue resolution.
- Support and lead business development activities, including proposal preparation, scope and fee development, and client presentations.
- Identify new opportunities with existing and prospective clients, and assist with marketing strategy for environmental services.
- Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and QA/QC review for junior staff and technicians.
- Ensure project compliance with applicable regulations, including Cal/OSHA, EPA, AHERA, NESHAP, CDPH, and local agency requirements.
- Perform project work in both office and field settings, including schools, commercial buildings, industrial facilities, healthcare sites, and active construction environments.
- Serve clients in Fresno, Madera, Tulare, Kings, and Kern Counties, with occasional travel throughout California based on project needs.
- Contribute to business development and leadership efforts by attending client meetings and industry events, promoting environmental services, and helping build a strong, client-focused team culture.
Qualifications
- Current and valid California Certified Asbestos Consultant (CAC) – Required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health, Engineering, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Minimum 5–8 years of progressive experience in environmental consulting with emphasis on asbestos, lead, and IAQ.
- Thorough working knowledge of asbestos, lead, and IAQ regulations and guidelines (Cal/OSHA, EPA, AHERA, NESHAP, CDPH, ASHRAE, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience managing projects, budgets, schedules, and client expectations.
- Proven business development or client management experience (proposals, presentations, key account support).
- Strong technical writing skills and ability to prepare clear, concise reports and deliverables.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable in client meetings and presentations.
- Ability to mentor and train junior staff and oversee field technicians.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
