SUMMARY:
Prepares and develops rubber compounds by performing the following duties. Responsible for the mixed quality and consistency of each ingredient mixed within a batch of rubber processed according to the plant and customers technical specifications. Develops and maintains a viable mixing program according to and consistent with mixing plant and customer technical specifications. Responsible for operation, routine maintenance and cleaning of mixer and associated production equipment. Communicating production information to company management.
SHIFT SCHEDULES:
1st: 6:00am-6:00pm, Mon-Wed and Thursday 6:00am-10:00pm. If schedules are not met, work week will continue until production is met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all inspections and audits required at all stages of mixing production.
Initiates action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process and quality systems.
Identifies and records any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
Initiates, recommends or provides solutions through designated channels and verifies the implementation of solutions.
Controls further processing, delivery or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory activities, including internal quality audits.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: If required to operate a forklift they must have a Fork Truck Operators License.
