Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors and staff. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with a focus on both commercial and residential spaces.
Duties
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas
- Conduct floor care activities such as buffing and waxing as needed
- Assist with custodial duties including trash removal and surface sanitization
- Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies are stocked and organized
- Provide porter services by assisting with the movement of furniture or equipment when necessary
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure high standards of cleanliness are met
Requirements
- Previous janitorial or custodial experience is preferred
- Familiarity with commercial cleaning practices and industrial cleaning techniques
- Knowledge of floor care methods including buffing and waxing
- Experience in facilities maintenance is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
- A positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a team environment
