Lily Pad Academy is a growing early childhood education center located in the heart of Jersey City. We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and nurturing Full-Time/Part-Time Pre-K Teacher to join our team. We are looking for someone who is dedicated to fostering a love of learning while creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment for children ages 3–5.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement engaging, age-appropriate lessons aligned with the New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.
- Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support children's cognitive, language, social-emotional, and physical development.
- Observe, assess, and document children's progress.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding children's development and daily activities.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom that complies with all New Jersey licensing regulations.
- Collaborate with teachers and administration to provide the highest quality educational experience.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Candidates with an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a CDA credential and relevant classroom experience are encouraged to apply.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching preschool or Pre-K children.
- Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Must successfully complete all required New Jersey background checks.
