Key Responsibilities
As our sole Fleet Mechanic, you will handle a diverse fleet ranging from heavy-duty trucks to specialized landscaping equipment. Your daily focus will include:
- Preventative Maintenance & Inspections: Routine servicing, oil changes, brake inspections, and safety compliance checks across all trucks, trailers, and equipment.
- Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Fabrication & Welding: Modifying, repairing, and strengthening trailers, truck bodies, and specialized tools.
- Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate digital or written logs of all maintenance, parts used, and vehicle histories.
What We Are Looking For (Skills & Qualifications)
We need a well-rounded technician who isn't afraid to pivot from a diesel engine to a lawnmower in the same afternoon.
- Diesel Experience: Strong working knowledge of medium to heavy-duty diesel engines and truck systems.
- Small Engine Repair: Proficiency with 2-stroke and 4-stroke small engines (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.).
- Welding & Fabrication: Proven ability to weld (MIG/TIG/Stick) and fabricate custom solutions or repairs for trailers and equipment.
- Electrical & Wiring: Sharp diagnostic skills using multimeters and scan tools to chase down complex electrical shorts and rewire equipment.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy parts, work in awkward positions, and adapt to changing weather conditions (both in-shop and occasional field repairs).
- Credentials: Valid Driver’s License required (CDL is a major plus). ASE certifications are a plus but experience speaks loudest.

- Standard business hours, with occasional overtime or weekend flexibility required during peak landscaping seasons to handle emergency repairs.
