Duties
- Perform comprehensive vascular ultrasound examinations, including arterial, venous, carotids, AVF eval and venous ablation procedures, utilizing high-resolution sonography equipment.
- Monitor and record vital signs and physiological data during procedures to ensure patient safety and procedural accuracy.
- Maintain strict aseptic techniques throughout all procedures to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Interpret imaging results promptly, documenting findings clearly for physician review and further diagnostic evaluation.
- Educate patients on procedures, prepare them for examinations, and address questions regarding their vascular health.
Requirements
- Valid registration as a Vascular Technologist with certification from an accredited organization such as the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic evaluation techniques related to vascular health.
- Demonstrated ability to perform sonography with precision in high-pressure environments such as trauma centers or emergency departments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
