As we expand, we’re seeking a Senior Finance/Business Analyst who can elevate our financial intelligence, lead a small team, and strengthen the profitability and commission infrastructure that drives our business.
Role Overview
The Senior Finance/Business Analyst is a strategic, leadership‑level role responsible for analyzing product profitability, managing COGS for insurance products, and overseeing full‑cycle sales commission reconciliation. This position blends financial analysis, operational strategy, and business intelligence — ensuring agents are paid accurately, products remain profitable, and leadership has clear visibility into performance. You will supervise a team, build advanced reporting frameworks, and partner closely with Operations, Accounting, and Sales.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Analysis & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting cycles.
- Analyze P&L trends, variances, operational drivers, and margin performance.
- Build dashboards and automated reporting tools for leadership and carrier partners.
Product Profitability & COGS (Health Insurance Products)
- Own profitability analysis for all insurance products, including COGS modeling tied to carrier payments, admin fees, overrides, and product‑level expenses.
- Monitor product performance across agent channels and identify margin improvement opportunities.
- Maintain accurate cost structures and product data across ERP, CRM, and commission systems.
Sales Commissions, Payments & Reconciliation
- Manage end‑to‑end commission calculations for agents, agencies, and uplines.
- Reconcile commissions against carrier statements, chargebacks, policy changes, cancellations, and adjustments.
- Ensure accuracy, transparency, and timely delivery of commission statements.
- Partner with Sales and Operations to refine commission structures and improve incentive alignment.
- Support audits, carrier inquiries, and agent escalations related to payments.
Forecasting & Budgeting
- Develop and maintain financial models for revenue, agent payments, overrides, expenses, and cash flow.
- Support annual budgeting and rolling forecasts across departments.
Business Intelligence & Data Insights
- Build KPI frameworks for agent performance, product profitability, retention, and operational efficiency.
- Translate complex data into clear insights that support strategic decisions.
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements across Finance and Operations.
Team Leadership
- Supervise and mentor a small team of analysts responsible for reporting, reconciliation, and data validation.
- Establish clear workflows, deadlines, and quality standards.
- Provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
Systems & Process Optimization
- Improve data integrity across ERP, CRM, commission platforms, and carrier reporting systems.
- Implement automation and streamline workflows to reduce manual reporting and reconciliation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, business analytics, FP&A, or insurance finance.
- Direct experience with COGS, product profitability, and commission reconciliation in a commission‑driven environment.
- Strong command of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, Power Query, macros, complex formulas).
- Experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar).
- ERP or commission system experience (e.g., AgencyBloc, Radius, iPipeline, SAP, MS Dynamics, NetSuite).
- Experience supervising or mentoring analysts.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights to leadership and external partners.
Preferred Experience (Bonus)
- Experience in the health insurance, TPA, IMO/FMO, or agent‑driven commission environment.
- Familiarity with carrier commission files, chargebacks, policy changes, and agent payment structures.
- Cost accounting or operational analytics experience.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
