The Wings of Love Adult Day program has over 25 years of experience backing its program of working alongside individuals with developmental disabilities throughout Ohio. We provide Socialization, Adult Programming, and Home Services to those who has been referred to our program.
Wing of Love is currently looking to hire individuals to work in our Adult Day Program for our Senior & individual with disabilities that will add motivation and compassion to the individuals we serve. Our goals are to engage community-based activities as well as introduce our clients to new exciting experiences.
Job duties include:
1. Assist with and participate in all daily activities of the Day Program, and other activities assigned and necessary such as participants desired outcomes.
2. Know the whereabouts of all participants. Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of all participants.
3.Report any accidents or incidents to the Day Program supervisor immediately, and fill out an accident/incident report if necessary.
4. Provide and assist with skills training for participants with a positive and creative approach. Skills training could include but is not limited to, interaction skills, social skills, community safety skills, volunteering, daily living, and community involvement.
5. Transporting clients to and from center as well as outings in the community.
6. Assist participants when necessary with toileting and personal care.
We are looking for someone with the following attributes:
Have strong communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with WOLS staff and families both verbally and written.
Someone who can conduct, lead, and supervise socialization activities to those with developmentally disabilities.
Has knowledge of developmental disabilities. It’s important to be flexible with daily activities as clients may have some health ailments that can limit the ability to partake in activities.
Can carry out job duties, meet deadlines, and work independently with minimal supervision.
Possess the skills to exercise cultural competency, sensitivity, maturity, and good judgement.
Can effectively work collaboratively as part of the team in the office as well as the ability to work with a variety of potentially challenging behaviors.
Excellent time management skills with a strong sense of responsibility.
Required:
Must be over 18.
A strong background and work experience working with adults with disabilities in the community setting.
Provide supervision and activities to those with developmental disabilities.
Role model effective ways of working with those who have challenging behaviors.
Write a daily report that reflects goals for each client.
Report all suspected abuse according to laws and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Personnel Requirements:
Must have valid driver’s license
Proof of insurance
Prior to first day of employment, must have fingerprint clearance and maintain clearance throughout employment.
CPR/First Aid Certification
Must be able to help with wheelchair transfers.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
