Position Title: Sales Engineer
Reports to: c3Energy Sales Director
Location: Remote with light travel
Position Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for maximizing sales to assigned customers. The position requires skills, mainly as a hunter, to aggressively grow existing accounts and uncover new customers along with strong account management skills to cross-sell and up-sell existing customers. One must have the ability to communicate effectively and develop relationships, possess superior phone and on-line presentation skills and a willingness to travel into territory for customer meetings. Under the mentorship and guidance of the c3Energy Sales Director, the Sales Engineer will function well in a team environment working closely with marketing (converting leads), sales support (ISR’s/AE’s), and a Customer First team (outstanding service) to accomplish the above responsibilities.
Essential Functions
- Responsible for meeting Sales quota for assigned accounts.
- Quickly and effectively engages and builds trust with people on the telephone, hunting and farming.
- Works daily to uncover new cross selling and upselling opportunities for the customers benefit.
- Skillfully creates an environment of trust and credibility with customers and prospects.
- Effectively qualifies and converts inbound leads.
- Maintains records of customer interactions and transactions via customer relationship management system (CRM), recording details of prospect and customer interaction, actions taken, deal stage, and next step activities.
- Updates personal knowledge of product lines, applications, various marketing promotional services, etc. and attends sales meetings as required.
- Solves complex problems in a technical environment using an analytical thought process.
- Clearly articulates information about products and services to new and existing customers and prospects.
- Establishes key relationships with all customers through consistent and effective prospecting and account management.
- Maintains a successful call rate (actual prospect and customer contact).
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or marketing disciplines
- 2-5 years sales experience.
- Computer proficiency (CRM experience and LinkedIn).
- Ability to effectively communicate through all mediums (verbal, listening, written)
- Aptitude for acquiring sales skills and product knowledge
- Organized with effective time management skills
Preferred Experience in the following market verticals:
- Critical Infrastructure / Data Center
- Switchgear
- Electric Utility/Power Grid
- Oil & Gas
- Boilers and Burners
Travel
Typically 10% - 15% travel; however, up to 25% may be required for this position.
Work Environment
This position is work from home office. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, etc.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday.
