Ryan Incorporated Southern Project Manager Position:
Ryan is a family owned and operated large scale sitework contractor with offices in Miami, Deerfield Beach and Stuart, Florida. This fifth generation company has built the Ryan foundation in the Civil / Sitework / Heavy Highway Industry exceeding our client’s expectation by providing them with full earthwork, underground utilities, heavy highway paving, land development and infrastructure Civil engineering projects throughout South East Florida.
A project manager is accountable for the physical construction of the project and is responsible for the day to day management and execution of the work, coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment and subcontractor services, as well as supervising the workforce at the job site.
Duties And Responsibilities:
- Responsible for directing, planning and managing construction project(s) in Municipal, State, Industrial, Residential and Commercial markets, to be completed ahead of schedule, within budget and in compliance with company safety and procedural policies.
- Sub-contractor procurement.
- Ability to negotiate and write Sub-Contractor Agreements.
- Scheduling and Budget development/update.
- Construction jobsite administrative duties including, submittals, RFIs, Change Orders, Purchase Orders etc.
- Establish and manage a construction and engineering schedule to include: construction documents; permits, submittals and approvals; construction activity.
- Assist office with subcontractor and material coordination / procurement.
- Maintain daily activity logs.
- Manage and resolve or assist office in resolving all conflicts such as: failure of subcontractors to perform; failure of materials to arrive; contract disputes; and trade conflicts.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Project P6, HCSS, and other Construction Software preferred on Apple Computers and I-pads
- Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, contracts and governmental regulations
- Effective written and oral communication skills. Able to present to potential clients, host meetings, and manage overall project expectations
- Quality control.
- Compile weekly client updates.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field
- Five or more years’ experience in construction management working with the Florida Department Transportation and South Florida Water Management District as well as Cities, Counties and Municipalities
- Strong organizational skills
- Detail-orientation, flexibility and multi-tasking attitude.
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, Bluebeam and AutoCAD
- Capable of understanding P6 Scheduling software
- HCSS Heavy Bid experience a plus
- Public work experience a plus (i.e. FDOT, SFWMD, ACOE, Municipalities, Counties, Cities)
- Must have a valid Florida driver’s license with satisfactory driving record throughout employment.
Preferred Education/Training/Certification:
- OSHA Training
- MSHA Part 46 Training
- First Aid / CPR
