Duties
- Install and upgrade car audio systems, including speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers, and head units, ensuring precise fitment and optimal performance
- Use schematics and technical manuals to interpret wiring diagrams and system layouts for various vehicle makes and models
- Conduct diagnostic assessments of automotive electrical systems to identify issues related to audio components or wiring faults
- Perform vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking powertrain connections, aligning components, and ensuring electrical integrity
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during installations and repairs
- Collaborate with customers to understand their audio preferences and provide expert recommendations for upgrades or customizations
- Ensure all installations comply with safety standards, manufacturer specifications, and dealership protocols
Experience
- Dealership experience or background working with automotive service centers preferred
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and schematics interpretation
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, including powertrain components, transmissions, diesel engines, and alignment procedures
- Familiarity with automotive repair techniques such as welding, welding safety practices, and the use of power tools
- Service technician experience involving auto estimating processes or customer service interactions is a plus
- Knowledge of ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) integration is advantageous but not required
- Prior work with GM vehicles or diesel engine repair is beneficial but not mandatory
