Carpenter
Position Summary
The Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled construction carpentry work in support of new construction, tenant improvements, and renovation projects. This position works under the direction of a Lead Carpenter or Superintendent and is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing a variety of structural and finish carpentry components while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Carpentry
· Perform layout work from plans, including walls, ceilings, doors, framing, blocking, backing, embeds, and miscellaneous carpentry components.
· Perform rough and finish carpentry in accordance with project specifications.
· Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and fasten materials using hand and power tools.
· Verify dimensions and layouts to ensure accuracy.
· Identify field conflicts or discrepancies and communicate concerns to the Lead Carpenter or Superintendent.
Project Support
- Assist with daily project activities to support schedule milestones.
- Help stage materials, equipment, and tools for upcoming work.
- Notify supervision of material shortages or potential delays.
- Maintain awareness of project sequencing and upcoming activities.
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently while meeting production expectations.
Safety & Quality
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and site-specific safety requirements.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform work in accordance with plans, specifications, and company quality standards.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and notify supervision of any deficiencies requiring correction.
- Protect finished work from damage.

Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience
· Three (3) or more years of commercial construction carpentry experience preferred.
· DSA (Department of State Architecture) experience preferred.
· Experience with framing, finish carpentry, concrete formwork, and general carpentry techniques.
· Knowledge of construction methods and sequencing.
· Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment.
· Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record may be required.

Physical Requirements
This position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, bending, crouching, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling throughout the workday. Employees must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly and occasionally more with assistance. Work is performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and may require working at heights, on ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts, or uneven terrain. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
Work Environment
The Carpenter works primarily on active construction sites where exposure to noise, dust, vibration, moving equipment, changing weather conditions, and other construction-related hazards is common. Compliance with all company safety policies and procedures is required.
Will be working primarily prevailing wage jobs.
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
