Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of licensed pharmacists, including sterile IV admixtures and aseptic techniques.
- Assist with medication intake, inventory management, and stock replenishment to ensure medication availability at all times.
- Perform IV infusion preparation and compounding following strict sterile procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Ensure compliance with state healthcare regulations, drug regulation standards, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting patient care initiatives.
- Maintain meticulous records of medication administration, drug regulation adherence, and pharmacy documentation.
- Support hospital or clinical staff with medication administration and other pharmacy-related tasks as needed.
Skills
- Proven pharmacy technician experience, preferably within LTC (Long-Term Care), critical care, or hospital environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, acute care procedures, and sterile IV compounding techniques.
- Familiarity with state and federal pharmacy laws, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance.
- Experience with IV infusion preparation, aseptic technique, and sterile IV admixture procedures.
- Excellent patient service skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
- Ability to navigate medical records systems efficiently while maintaining accuracy in documentation.
- Basic life support certification (BLS) is preferred to support emergency response efforts.
