Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for the planning, organizing, direction, reviewing and evaluating the day-to-day 24 hour dispatch trucking operations. Supervises the daily work of the assigned dispatch personnel to plan, execute, monitor and manage professionally the assigned drivers/equipment.
Manages the daily operation ensuring customer satisfaction is successfully achieved
Provide solid leadership for Logistics and Operation Coordinators and handles escalations and issues as needed
Responsible for setting department goals, monitoring and controlling work flow and ensuring an effective operating department
Ensure efficiency and safety of day-to-day operations for the entire fleet of tractors, trailers and driver force
Monitor CSA Safety scores and implement training and disciplinary actions to resolve negative trends
Work with Safety Department and keeping up to date with tags, titles, registrations, Heavy-Use tax, and all other taxes and fees required by DOT and US law to operate a motor carrier
Work with Fleet Department Manager and mechanics keeping up to date with truck/trailer maintenance
Coach, train, and develop dispatch team to exceed goals with 8-10 dispatchers
Driver Management (ability to motivate and issue corrective actions) of over 50 + company drivers.
Job Requirements
GPS tracking software knowledge
Able to conduct driver and dispatch meetings
Trucking industry management experience required
Excellent communication skills both oral and written
Proficient in Microsoft packages including Excel, Word
Proven organizational and managing skills
