MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Associate Degree with 60 credits, including 24 in ED and three years of teaching experience; OR Associate Degree in early childhood education, and six years of teaching experience. Highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent English language written and oral skills.
At the time of hire, if minimum qualifications are not met, an educational plan must be implemented and active to remain employed. Must be in good physical and mental health.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Educational Director and Head Teacher:
- Student Instruction and Guidance: Must assist in plans, organizes, and executes daycare curriculum, lesson plans, procedures, and document accordingly. Provide a positive effect on the students; maintain wholesome classroom atmosphere; effective use of methods and techniques that are age-appropriate; conducts bimonthly written observations of children and communicate any concern to the Head Teacher; regularly establish, conduct, document and inform Head Teacher of relevant items in classroom team meetings.a
- Productivity, Quality of Work & Safety: Accomplish goals and objectives that relate to contract term and Blanche Day Care Center policies; complete tasks in a timely manner; completes and maintains quality documentation; assist with designing and maintaining a neat and clean and safe environment for students; promotes student autonomy and self-sufficiency; implements good safety practice in and outside of the classroom; recommends improvement and participates in classroom daily preparation and clean-up; notifies appropriate staff of safety issue/problems; adheres to all FGC and governmental safety procedures and rules outlined for childcare centers.
- Professional & Customer Service: Candidates must maintain a cooperative, professional relationship with all staff and parents/guardians. Must demonstrate personal responsibility for actions and attends required staff development and meetings. Maintains professional appearance; notifies Supervisor, promptly, of problems or developing issues in the center; prepares and participates in parent-teacher conferences; attend and assist parent orientations, parent workshops community forums, and special events.
- Punctuality, Attendance & Dependability: Consistently arrives on time at designation work location; follows procedures for leave requests; shares responsibilities with other colleagues.
