American Traveler is hiring an experienced Level II NICU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring prior travel and NICU experience.

Level II NICU setting within a hospital environment
-
Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
-
Patient ratio of 1:2 to 1:3
-
Cares for neonates across gestational ages, including <24-28 weeks, 29-34 weeks, and >34 weeks
-
Floating to Baby Nurse unit as needed
-
Attends high-risk deliveries
-
Uses Epic charting system
-
Active NJ or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration

Minimum 2 years of NICU nursing experience preferred

Prior travel nursing experience required

Certifications required: BLS, NRP or NRP Advanced

STABLE certification preferred
-
Epic charting experience preferred
-
Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care
-
Experience with UAC/UVC placement and management
-
Proficient in neonatal medication administration, including anti-seizure medications, antibiotics, steroids, and surfactants
-
Knowledge of respiratory support including bubble CPAP, HFNC, and ventilator management (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP)
-
Experience with phototherapy, blood glucose monitoring, and insulin administration
-
Skilled in APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and developmental care
-
Experience managing neonatal sepsis and infectious disease precautions
-
Responsibilities include high-risk delivery attendance, neonatal resuscitation, and family-centered developmental care
-
Provides care for conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and seizure disorders
-
Assists with procedures including lumbar puncture and chest tube management
-
Supports breastfeeding and manages various feeding methods including gavage and nasogastric/nasojejunal tubes
-
Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
-
Former staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
-
All requested RTO must be submitted prior to consideration, with no more than 3 days auto-approved and none during the first week of orientation
