Security Guards shall be responsible for observing and reporting any suspicious activity, providing safety and protection to our employees and customers at our cannabis retail storefront. Remains up to date on all cannabis regulations to ensure compliance within the dispensary. Also, will require community work with volunteer agencies and will be paid for these functions.
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Observe and report suspicious activity, identify subjects and provide detailed physical descriptors of any customer who may appear to show signs of suspicious behavior. Ability to provide details of any/all incidents that occur through incident reporting documentation.

Maintain complete knowledge of all security operations, policies and procedures

Comply with all Security policies and procedures that pertain to the property

Conduct detailed sweeps of the building including the surrounding property, neighboring businesses and parking lots, while practicing rigorous attention to detail.

Secure the store at opening and closing times including escorting staff to and from their vehicles to ensure their safety. Provide support for the opening and closing procedures and maintain a clean and hygienic floor.

Communicate and liaise with law enforcement, fire departments and other first responder personnel.

Establish and maintain working relationships and provide assistance as requested to managers, supervisors and employees on an ongoing basis to enhance the security and safety of all employees, contractors, etc.

Remain alert and aware of all situations going on in the parking lot, the surrounding property, in front of the store and throughout the interior of the building at all times.

Monitor property access and public access to the building using a closed-circuit television camera system in addition to visual surveillance while on foot patrol around the property.

Engage all customers entering and exiting the store with a friendly greeting, treating each with respect, while providing a safe environment and shopping experience.

Working knowledge of security operations and safety practices, state and local laws and regulations.

Other duties as may be required as requested by management.

Perform community work with volunteer agencies

Assists in monitoring and maintaining current inventory levels, at least 20% of time at work

Participates in physical counts of inventory and investigation of errors/problems

Must be at least 21 years of age

High school diploma or GED preferred

Successfully complete a required “Live Scan” and a Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) compliant background check
- Possess a valid Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (BSIS) Security Guard Card.
- Two plus years of prior experience in the security field and customer service; experience in communicating effectively and professionally with all customers.
- Previous experience in the cannabis industry is highly recommended, but not required
- Self-starter who takes initiative and displays strong problem-solving skills
- Has excellent organizational skills and can maintain a positive, professional attitude in a fast-paced and changing work environment
- Consistently demonstrate integrity and honesty, reliability and dependability
- Available to work varies hours/days, including late nights, weekends, holidays, and/or events
- Ability to diffuse high-intensity situations with diligence, professionalism, and respect.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or G-Suite Applications (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Calendar), Adobe Acrobat, etc.
- Ability to draft security incident reports in a clear and concise manner with careful attention to detail.
