Position Summary:
The Field Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor provides clinical oversight and supervision of in-home aide services in accordance with 10A NCAC 13J Home Care Agency Licensure Rules, the North Carolina Nursing Practice Act, and agency policies. The RN conducts client assessments, develops service plans, supervises in-home aides, and ensures safe, quality care in the home setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum two (2) years nursing experience, preferably in home care, community health, or supervisory roles
- OR
- Master’s degree in nursing with a public health or administrative focus
- OR
- Certification in Public Health Nursing or Home Health Nursing
- Home care experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Assessment & Care Planning:
- Conduct initial and periodic client assessments.
- Develop and update individualized service plans.
- Evaluate the home environment for safety and suitability of care.
Staff Supervision:
- Provide clinical supervision of in-home-aide staff.
- Conduct supervisory visits to ensure services are provided according to the service plan.
- Verify competency and performance of aides.
Training & Education:
- Assist with the orientation and training of aides.
- Provide ongoing instruction and guidance to ensure safe care practices.
Coordination of Care:
- Coordinate services with clients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers.
- Monitor for changes in client condition and report concerns appropriately.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Ensure compliance with 10A NCAC 13J, the NC Nursing Practice Act, and agency policies.
- Review incident reports, complaints, and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and record reviews.
Additional Duties:
- Attend staff meetings and training.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
