Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Bookkeeper specializing in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to join our dynamic finance team. Responsibilities
- Process and verify all accounts payable transactions, including invoice entry, approval workflows, and vendor payments using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Manage accounts receivable activities by invoicing clients, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts to ensure steady cash flow.
- Perform bank reconciliations regularly to match bank statements with ledger entries, ensuring accuracy across all financial records.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy through diligent journal entries, account analysis, and ledger reconciliations aligned with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations to verify asset, liability, and equity account balances are correct and complete.
- Assist with payroll processing by verifying employee hours, calculating deductions, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
- Support month-end closing processes through detailed account analysis and preparation of financial reports that reflect the organization’s fiscal health.
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles with a focus on accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, governmental accounting standards (if applicable), and non-profit accounting practices.
- Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping system including debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger management.
- Ability to perform account reconciliation tasks accurately using bank reconciliation techniques and 10-key typing skills for data entry.
- Experience with financial report writing, budget tracking, and financial concepts such as GAAP compliance is highly desirable.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
