Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Field Welder/Fabricator to join our team. This role involves hands-on work to position, align, fit, and weld parts into complete units or sub-units. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in various welding processes, pipe fitting techniques, and the setup of fabrication equipment. Field work and weekend availability are required.
Job Duties
- Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or sub-units, adhering to blueprints, jig layouts, or specifications.
- Utilize pipe fitting techniques for different systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, and glued piping systems.
- Measure, cut, assemble, and install piping systems using hand and power tools.
- Install supports, valves, control equipment, and related items; test piping systems to ensure compliance.
- Read blueprints or instructions to determine material requirements and operational methods.
- Verify workpiece conformance using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
- Safely lift and position materials or workpieces using cranes or lifting equipment.
- Operate fabricating machines (brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, drill presses, etc.) to bend, cut, punch, drill, or assemble components.
- Examine metal stock or workpieces to ensure specifications are met.
Job Requirements
- Proficiency in running welding machines (Mig, Flux, Stick, Tig, engine-driven machines).
- Strong blueprint interpretation skills, including welding specifications, symbols, procedures, and dimensions.
- Competence in using measuring devices like squares, levels, and tape measures.
- Ability to assemble workpieces with or without blueprints.
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet strict timelines.
- Self-motivated and capable of initiating assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
- Completion of weld tests.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a drug test.
- Certification and experience with API 1104, B31.1, & P1.1 preferred.
- Willingness to work weekends and perform field work.
