- 3 x 12-hour shifts: 7am-7:30pm (days) and every other weekend.
Job Summary
Under general supervision, the Radiologic Technologist specializes in performing computerized tomographic (CT) procedures. This role may also include general diagnostic radiology exams. The technologist is responsible for patient care during procedures, technical imaging functions, and operational support of the radiology department.
Essential Functions
- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients accordingly
- Review clinical data and perform appropriate CT exams
- Gather and assess patient medical history as needed
- Prepare and stock procedure rooms with necessary supplies
- Position patients and operate CT equipment for diagnostic imaging
- Administer IV contrast media using power injectors; monitor for and respond to adverse reactions
- Set up sterile equipment for procedures, ensuring adequate supply availability
- Assist radiologists in complex sterile diagnostic procedures such as biopsies
- Follow radiation safety protocols including shielding and dose reduction techniques (ALARA)
- Ensure quality image capture and transfer to PACS system; resolve image exceptions
- Perform accurate study indexing and documentation in RIS
- Confirm protocols with radiologists prior to exams
- Exhibit professionalism, open communication, and a positive attitude in line with HFH standards
- Complete all medical record and billing documentation as required
Requirements
- Valid ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology
- Certification in CT (preferred or required, depending on client standards)
- BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of CT equipment and procedures
- Ability to work evening/night shifts, weekends, and non-consecutive days
