The Network Engineer II is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures continuity, security, scalability, and high availability of network services across the enterprise.
The position operates with a high degree of independence and works closely with the Network Architect, fellow Network Engineers, and Management to support implementation of network designs and operational improvements. The Network Engineering team works in close collaboration with the Systems Infrastructure team to ensure reliable connectivity for server, storage, and core infrastructure services.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), QoS, VPNs, and network segmentation.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-grade switches, routers, firewalls, and application delivery controllers including Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, and Citrix NetScaler platforms.
- Experience implementing and supporting enterprise wireless LAN environments.
- Familiarity with network monitoring and alerting tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, OpManager, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
