Duties
- Safely load and unload shipments using forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other heavy equipment, ensuring proper handling of all materials.
- Operate various warehouse equipment including RF scanners, cranes, and heavy machinery to facilitate efficient order picking, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Manage inventory by accurately tracking materials using warehouse management systems (WMS) and conducting regular stock counts.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders with precision, utilizing manual handling techniques and order picker tools to meet shipping deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace by properly stacking pallets, securing loads, and ensuring safety standards are met during all operations.
- Follow OSHA safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents during heavy lifting or mechanical equipment operation.
- Assist with construction-related tasks or projects requiring mechanical knowledge or heavy lifting skills when needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse distribution or warehouse operations with a focus on materials handling.
- Demonstrated ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, clamp trucks, cranes, and other heavy equipment safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems (WMS), RF scanners, and basic math skills for accurate order picking and load calculations.
- Previous experience in shipping & receiving, order picking, or warehouse supervision is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and best practices for manual handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently while maintaining safety protocols; construction or mechanical background is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory accuracy and quality control.
