Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Custom Woodworker to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will bring craftsmanship and precision to custom woodworking projects, transforming raw materials into beautiful, functional pieces for residential and commercial spaces. Your expertise in reading technical drawings, operating woodworking machinery, and utilizing hand and power tools will be essential in delivering top-quality results. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from intricate trim carpentry to large-scale remodeling, all while maintaining a focus on safety, efficiency, and craftsmanship excellence.
Duties
- Interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical drawings to accurately execute custom woodworking projects.
- Operate woodworking machines such as saws, planers, routers, and sanders with precision and adherence to safety standards.
- Use hand tools and power tools for cutting, shaping, assembling, and finishing wood components.
- Measure and cut materials accurately for framing, trim carpentry, door hanging, flooring installation, and other custom woodwork tasks.
- Collaborate with project managers and contractors to ensure project specifications are met on time and within scope.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely to facilitate efficient workflow on construction sites.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to power tool safety protocols.
- Assist with remodeling projects that include stucco application, rebar installation, mold remediation, or fixture installation as needed.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating and interpreting construction plans.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and technical drawing interpretation.
- Extensive experience with hand tools such as chisels, hammers, screwdrivers, levels, and measuring tapes.
- Skilled in operating power tools for woodworking including saws, drills, sanders, routers, and nail guns.
- Background in residential carpentry with expertise in trim carpentry, door hanging, flooring installation, tile laying, and framing.
- Familiarity with woodworking machines like table saws, jointers, planers, and band saws for precise fabrication.
- Knowledge of construction site safety practices including power tool safety standards.
- Experience working with wood construction materials such as plywood, MDF, hardwoods, softwoods, rebar-reinforced framing components.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings related to metal stud framing or remodeling plans.
- Hands-on experience in plastering or stucco application is a plus; also capable of caulking or fixture installation when required.
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and working at heights or confined spaces on construction sites.
- Strong handyman skills including rebar installation or mold remediation support during renovation projects.
