Position:

Ranger

Department: Recreation

Employment Status: Chapter 7 Ordinance, Non-Exempt, Seasonal Hours Needed/Varies – Up to 35 Hours/Week)

Salary: $15.00/Hour

Schedule: Two positions available:

(Ranger 1): May 11th, 2026 – September 11th, 2026

(Ranger 2): June 8th, 2026 – October 11th, 2026

(*Depending on park operating hours and scheduled activities)

Certifications/Licenses Required: MA Class D Driver’s License

SUMMARY

The City of Chicopee’s Recreation Department is hiring a Ranger who will supervise park picnic facilities on weekends and weekdays.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE:

Works days, weekends and holidays to monitor the Szot Park picnic area and help to observe other park facilities such as the pool, playground area, ball fields, basketball, tennis courts.

Informs people on the use of park badge system for using pools, basketball courts, tennis courts, and other park facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/G.E.D.
Some experience working with the general public.
Must be able to express oneself verbally.
Knowledge of parks and recreation operations helpful.
