Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team who is passionate about the profession and outpatient care in a predominately Sports and Orthopedic setting. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to implement treatment plans for patients recovering from injuries or surgeries, as well as those managing chronic conditions. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for our patients through effective rehabilitation techniques and patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Conduct therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' mobility, strength, and overall function.
- Monitor patient progress and provide feedback to the supervising physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and injury prevention strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and progress in compliance with clinic policies.
- Ensure a safe and clean treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, or acute care settings.
- Utilize specialized techniques such as trigger point therapy as needed to enhance patient outcomes.
Requirements
- Knowledge of human physiology and anatomy is essential.
- Experience in outpatient settings, skilled nursing facilities, or acute care environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with orthopedic and geriatric patient populations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and empathy towards patients during their rehabilitation journey.
- Certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
