We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time Aftercare Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. Responsibilities
- Supervise children during afterschool hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social interaction
- Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and facilitate youth group activities and enrichment programs
- Maintain clear communication with parents regarding children’s progress and daily experiences
- Follow all first aid protocols, including administering basic first aid and CPR when necessary
- Support children with special education needs by adapting activities to meet individual requirements
Skills
- Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Strong classroom management skills to foster a respectful and productive environment
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in youth supervision
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and AED operation to ensure safety standards are met
- Ability to lead outdoor activities safely and confidently in various weather conditions
- Experience facilitating youth programs or camp activities that encourage teamwork and personal growth
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively
- Background in special education or theater experience is a plus for creating dynamic learning experiences
