General Summary
The Branch Operations Support Supervisor is responsible for overseeing assigned branch office(s) and providing quality service to members in account transactions, new account openings and on boarding. Resolve problems within established policies and guidelines. Train and supervise branch MSRs in all aspects of their job duties to achieve branch objectives.
Essential Functions
- Monitor key products to ensure sound business practices and quality service to members.
- Monitor branch activity including transaction volume, transaction errors, new accounts, cross sales, and USX FCU Financial Group activity.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain a cross-selling environment within the branch. Train new and existing MSRs to recognize and maximize opportunities to educate members and sell products.
- Actively engage with potential members to increase membership.
- Assist the Branch Manager with job performance appraisals for MSRs under direct supervision.
- Report employee or other work-related concerns (attendance, performance, etc.) in a timely manner to the Branch Manager with documented support.
- Monitor branch operations to ensure a consistent, professional approach.
- Assist the team and members in solving complex account problems.
- Represent the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations (SEG), other financial institutions, etc. Attendance and participation in marketing and business development activities.
- Support the Branch Manager with service and staffing levels of the MSR staff; making sure the branch has adequate coverage and is responding to members’ needs quickly while ensuring the members’ overall experience is of the highest quality.
- Ensure staff receive ongoing training in security and robbery practices.
- Ensure staff engage in drills and training for disaster recovery and business continuity.
- May function as an MSR or New Accounts Representative.
- Periodic travel as needed to USX Federal Credit Union locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or a combination of equivalent experience and/or education
- Two years of supervisory experience is required
- Self-directed individual with well-developed interpersonal skills, effective communications skills, both written and oral, as well as time management skills
- Cash management experience – ability to manage cash operations, audits, overall balancing.
- Demonstrated ability for independent thinking and sound decision-making skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to effectively manage branch operations
- Ability to foster collaboration and a positive work environment
- Similar or transferable experience working within a credit union, community banking or financial industry preferred.
- Working knowledge of computer applications, to include MS-Office products
