Greccio Housing is a local nonprofit that exists to create stable, safe, and supportive affordable housing options for low-income individuals and families who work and live in the Pikes Peak region. Beyond providing affordable housing to lower their cost of living, we offer access to a variety of services, guidance, community events, educational workshops, and ongoing assistance that helps on their path toward self-sufficiency and financial independence. Through Greccio Commercial, we are also able to offer property management services.
Job Purpose:
The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of invoices, payments, and vendor documentation across multiple entities. This detail-oriented role supports the Accounting Department through careful recordkeeping, vendor relationship management, and invoice verification — contributing to the financial integrity of Greccio Housing's mission-driven work.
Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Processing
-
Process invoices for multiple entities and vendors, including uploading, coding, and obtaining necessary approvals

Prepare check requests and process employee credit card statements and payments
-
Ensure timely and accurate bill payments via check or EFT in accordance with department procedures

Vendor Management
-
Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing vendors
-
Obtain and track required documentation such as W-9s and Certificates of Insurance
-
Respond promptly and professionally to vendor inquiries

Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner

Invoice Verification & Recordkeeping

Compare work orders to invoices, verify payment terms and additional charges

Maintain accurate and up-to-date departmental procedures and historical records

Organize and manage both paper and electronic files (onsite and offsite)

General Accounting Support

Assist with account maintenance, document scanning, and filing

Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Department as needed

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (minimum)
-
2 years of higher education in accounting (can substitute for part of experience requirement)
Required Experience:
-
Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar financial role or a combination of 2 years’ higher education in accounting plus 1 year of accounting experience

Experience working within a not-for-profit or charitable organization is highly desirable.

Familiarity with Yardi or AppFolio property management/accounting software, preferred

Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat
