Kay's Learning Academy is seeking a dependable, energetic, and compassionate Full-Time Floater Teacher to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children of various ages and can adapt quickly to different classrooms and daily needs.
The Floater Teacher provides support throughout the center, assisting in both our Toddler and Pre-K classrooms as needed, covering breaks, helping maintain ratios, and ensuring children receive consistent care and supervision throughout the day.

Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the Toddler and Pre-K classrooms as needed
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities
- Support curriculum implementation and daily classroom routines
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment
- Help with diapering, toileting, meals, and nap supervision as needed
- Ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and center policies
- Maintain positive communication with staff and families
- Assist with transitions, outdoor play, and special activities throughout the day
- Help maintain classroom ratios when needed
- Step into classrooms as needed to support teachers and ensure smooth daily operations
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- NC Early Childhood Credential or EDU 119 (preferred) or willingness to obtain
- Previous childcare experience preferred
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- ITS-SIDS certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Successful completion of background check, TB test, and health screening (required before starting)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when necessary
- Must be comfortable working with children ages 1–5 and transitioning between classrooms throughout the day
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Passion for early childhood education and commitment to the well-being of each child
Compensation & Benefits
Pay: $14.00–$15.00 per hour (based on experience and educational background)

Schedule
- Full-Time
- Monday–Friday
- Current hours are approximately 9:00 AM–6:00 PM
- Beginning in August, the center will be closing at 5:30 PM, so scheduled hours will be adjusted accordingly
- No nights
- No weekends
