Position Summary
The Assistant Director of Facilities supports the Director of Facilities in the daily operation,
maintenance, safety, and security of Gulfshore Playhouse facilities. This position coordinates
routine maintenance, vendors, supplies, inspections, and facility-related needs while ensuring a
safe, accessible, and welcoming environment for employees, artists, patrons, and visitors.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist with the daily operation and maintenance of all Gulfshore Playhouse facilities.
Coordinate routine and preventive maintenance schedules and respond to facility-related
requests.
Conduct regular facility inspections and identify maintenance, safety, security, and
accessibility concerns.
Perform minor repairs and coordinate larger repairs with appropriate contractors and
service providers.
Serve as a point of contact for maintenance staff, vendors, contractors, pest control, and
waste management providers.
Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of maintenance, safety, and operational
supplies.
Assist with monitoring the facilities budget and identifying maintenance and operational
needs.
Work closely with the Director of Facilities and IT Manager to maintain effective
building security and access procedures.
Assist with maintaining safety procedures, emergency preparedness, first aid supplies,
and accident reporting.
Ensure facility operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
Assist with maintaining facility safety, accessibility, and operational manuals.
Collaborate with Events, Production, IT, Patron Services, and other departments to
support performances, events, and daily operations.
Provide recommendations to the Director of Facilities regarding repairs, improvements,
safety concerns, and operational efficiencies.
Assist with supervising and coordinating maintenance personnel, as assigned.
Serve as the Director of Facilities' designee when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or education in facilities
management, maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred.
Experience in facilities, building maintenance, property management, or a related field.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coordinate vendors, contractors, and multiple maintenance priorities.
Working knowledge of general building maintenance and safety practices.
Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and during performances or special events
as needed.
Ability to perform physical tasks associated with facility operations, including lifting,
carrying, bending, climbing, and moving equipment or supplies.
