Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload freight using manual handling techniques while ensuring cargo integrity and compliance with hazardous materials regulations when transporting dangerous goods.
- Utilize GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes and ensure timely deliveries across multiple states or regions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of trucks and trailers to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery documentation, and cargo handling records in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing exceptional service.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on over-the-road (OTR) routes.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations.
- Experience with truck loading/unloading procedures and logistics cargo handling.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements for Hazmat or Tanker preferred; a clean driving record is essential.
- Ability to operate manual transmission trucks confidently; experience with manual handling is required for certain cargo types.
- Strong route planning skills using GPS navigation tools to optimize delivery schedules across long distances.
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, compliance, and customer service excellence.
