Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence.
- Implement and modify individualized care plans developed by occupational therapists, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
- Support patients across various settings including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health visits, and acute care environments.
- Utilize your knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, and anatomy to accurately document patient progress and communicate effectively with healthcare teams.
- Contribute to the development and execution of treatment strategies for diverse populations such as geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals recovering from injury or illness.
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises and adaptive techniques to enhance recovery at home or in outpatient settings.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols while delivering compassionate patient-centered care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities or inpatient hospital settings is highly preferred.
- Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and implementing care plans within home health or outpatient clinics is advantageous.
- Familiarity with medical imaging procedures, outpatient therapy services, and clinical environments enhances your ability to support diverse patient needs.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatrics, occupational health principles, and medical terminology is essential for success in this role.
