Job Overview
The Mechanical Engineer will work on mechanical structures and systems development for our products from conception through product launch. This role involves system definition, architecture design, build, and commissioning. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge from previous product launches and understand the methodology, flexibility, and grit involved in bringing an idea from concept to reality. They enjoy evolving their own designs. As we are a small and tight-knit team, the ideal candidate will be highly collaborative, easy to work with, and self-motivated. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components using CAD software.
- Create detailed schematics and documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate design performance under various conditions.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers to integrate Arduino systems into mechanical designs.
- Utilize CNC machinery for prototyping and production of components.
- Ensure compliance with industry codes and standards throughout the design process.
- Troubleshoot design issues and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in designing and developing relevant mechanical systems.
- Proficient in SolidWorks.
- Very hands-on capable, proper fabrication skills, and taking ownership of projects to be done the right way, expedience second.
- Experience in complex, multi-disciplinary systems preferred (automotive, aerospace, marine, robotics).
- Highly knowledgeable in areas of relevant manufacturing methods (machining, weldments, composites, etc.) and how to optimize designs appropriately.
- Experience in rapid prototyping designs and validating concepts.
- Experience in CAE analysis (FEA, CFD, etc.).
- Knowledge of automotive or recreation vehicle space preferred.
- Ability to work and collaborate with colleagues with diverse backgrounds and involving multiple disciplines.
- Ability to multitask in a dynamic startup environment.
- Ability to work legally in the United States.
REQUIREMENTS OR SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Valid CA driver license and valid auto insurance.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to travel to and walk job sites.
- Ability to sit in front of a computer for eight (8) hours per day.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Fluent in English. Bilingual English and Chinese helpful but not required.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
