Duties
- Lead the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage wiring and control systems.
- Diagnose complex electrical issues using advanced diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and troubleshoot electrical systems efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to execute precise wiring and system modifications.
- Ensure all work complies with NFPA 70 (National Fire Protection Association) standards, NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety procedures.
- Install, program, and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in automation processes across industrial facilities.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring tasks safely during renovations or new construction projects while adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other equipment effectively to complete electrical work on time and within specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and emergency repairs on commercial electrical systems to ensure continuous operation.
- Collaborate with project teams during construction site activities including framing carpentry or handyman tasks as needed for seamless project execution.
- Document all work performed accurately in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Experience as an electrician with a strong background in commercial electrical systems.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Deep understanding of NFPA 70 compliance standards, NEC regulations, local electrical codes, and safety procedures.
- Skilled in reading electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams for system installation or repair projects.
- Hands-on experience with high-voltage wiring (up to 600V), low-voltage systems, and industrial electrical infrastructure.
- Ability to interpret electrical blueprints accurately for complex installations or renovations.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on safety protocols during renovation or new builds.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) programming and troubleshooting for automation applications.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wire strippers, screwdrivers; power tools including drills; testing equipment like ohmmeters; and other essential electrical tools.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents during all phases of work.
- Valid licenses or certifications required by local authorities for industrial or commercial electricians preferred.
