You begin with a quick huddle, aligning a skilled maintenance crew around safety priorities and the shift’s plan. A walk-through of the steel processing lines reveals which assets need attention—worn components here, an obsolescent scanner there. You open the downtime dashboard, study utilization trends, and decide where an upgrade to interlocks or a controls tweak will win back the most uptime. By mid-morning you’re coordinating a small capital improvement, ensuring parts and people are in place and the budget stays intact. After lunch, you partner with corporate mechanical and electrical specialists to solve a stubborn plant issue, then lead a root-cause review that feeds into a stronger preventive maintenance schedule. If the operation needs you after hours, you’re ready to support.
