Job Summary:
As a Medical Receptionist with Grand Island Clinic, you will play an integral role on the integrated clinic team. You will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing the check-in and check-out process along with other administrative tasks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Job Functions:

Patient Interaction: Greet patients and visitors in a warm and professional manner, ensuring a positive first impression. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, scheduling appointments, and assisting with patient registration.

Appointment Scheduling: Manage the appointment calendar, coordinating patient appointments, consultations, and follow-up visits. Confirm and reschedule appointments as necessary.

Medical Records: Maintain accurate patient records, including updated personal information and insurance details. Ensure patient privacy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Check-In/Check-Out: Facilitate the check-in and check-out process including but not limited to, verifying insurance information and patient demographics, collecting payments, and providing any/all necessary documentation.

Phone, text, and Email Correspondence: Answer incoming calls promptly and respond to patient texts efficiently. Direct inquiries to the appropriate staff members or departments.

Administrative Support: Assist clinic staff with administrative tasks, such as data entry, filing, and maintaining office supplies. Collaborate with medical assistants and nurses to facilitate smooth patient flow.

Patient Communication: Relay messages and information between patients and healthcare providers as needed. Maintain clear and effective communication channels within the clinic.

Provide guidance and training to other receptionists, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Organizational skills to maintain an orderly and efficient desk area.
Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative role within a healthcare setting is preferred.

Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance verification is a plus.
Physical Demands:

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

Visual acuity for reading and inputting data.

Manual dexterity for operating office equipment and computers.

Position requires reaching, bending, stooping, and handling objects with hands and/or fingers, talking and/or hearing, and seeing.
