Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional Behavior Tech to join our team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders. In this role, you will work closely with licensed behavior analysts, educators, and families to implement individualized behavior intervention plans. Responsibilities
- Assist children with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, feeding, toileting, and dressing to promote independence
- Collect and record behavioral data accurately during therapy sessions to monitor progress and inform treatment adjustments
- Implement ABA therapy protocols under the supervision of licensed behavior analysts, ensuring fidelity to treatment plans
- Support educational activities by teaching social skills, communication techniques, and adaptive behaviors aligned with individual care plans
- Manage behavior management strategies to reduce challenging behaviors and reinforce positive behaviors in various settings
- Maintain detailed medical documentation and behavioral records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies
- Communicate effectively with clients’ families, caregivers, and team members to ensure consistency across environments
Skills
- Experience working with children, especially those with autism spectrum disorders or neurodevelopmental disabilities
- Knowledge of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and experience implementing ABA therapy protocols
- Strong understanding of special education practices and behavior management techniques
- Ability to assist with ADLs and support client care in home-based or school environments
- Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical documentation standards
- Excellent client communication skills with a compassionate approach to behavioral health support
- Experience working within ethical guidelines such as the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts
