We are looking for an experienced, dependable Field Foreman to lead our crews on residential house lifting projects. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on the job site and ensuring each project is completed safely, efficiently, and according to project specifications.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in construction and understands the demands of working around residential structures, hydraulic lifting equipment, steel beams, cribbing, foundations, and other specialized equipment used in structural elevation projects. Our primary need is for an experienced House Lifting Foreman, although candidates with strong pile driving or demolition experience will also be considered.
What You'll Do:
- As the Foreman, you will oversee the crew and manage the day-to-day work involved in safely raising and supporting residential structures.
- Responsible for preparing job sites for lifts, coordinating the placement and positioning of hydraulic jacks, steel beams, cribbing, and other lifting equipment, and ensuring the crew is following proper procedures throughout each stage of the project.
- Identify field conditions or problems and communicate them promptly to Project Management.
- Maintain communication with Project Management and Operations regarding job progress, delays, additional work, and manpower needs.
- Manage and develop employees assigned to the crew, including productivity, attendance, conduct, and performance.
- Ensure company equipment and tools are properly used, maintained, and accounted for.
- projects moving forward and address issues that arise on the job site.
- Manage project labor hours and crew productivity against the planned hours for the job.
This is a hands-on Foreman position. You should be comfortable working alongside the crew when needed, operating around heavy equipment, assisting with physical construction tasks, and stepping in wherever necessary to keep the project progressing safely and efficiently.
Safety Responsibilities:
The Foreman is directly responsible for maintaining a safe jobsite and enforcing SJ Hauck Construction's safety requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting daily jobsite safety meetings and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) reviews.
- Identifying job-specific hazards before work begins.
- Ensuring employees understand the work plan and safety requirements.
- Verifying proper PPE is being used.
- Correcting unsafe behavior or conditions immediately.
- Maintaining a clean and organized jobsite.
- Reporting incidents, injuries, property damage, or safety concerns immediately.
Safety is a core responsibility of the Foreman and is never secondary to production.
What You'll Need:
- Previous Foreman or field leadership experience in house lifting, structural moving, pile driving, demolition, heavy construction, or a related specialty trade.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, job-site safety, and sequencing of work and coordinate materials, equipment, and manpower on the job site.
- Read and understand construction plans and project specifications.
- Ability to lead, direct, and communicate effectively with a construction crew, while also identify potential safety concerns and address them appropriately.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage labor hours and maintain productivity.
- Strong commitment to jobsite safety.
- Comfortable completing daily reports and administrative requirements.
- Valid driver's license
The Foreman is responsible for delivering the job safely, efficiently, and correctly while leading the crew and protecting the company's time, equipment, and resources.
