Job Summary

Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to promote independence and dignity
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques
- Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and hydration to ensure proper nutrition and hydration levels
- Use manual handling techniques and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by following infection control procedures, including cleaning resident areas and equipment
- Engage residents in social activities and provide emotional support to foster a positive community atmosphere
- Document all care activities thoroughly in compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies
Experience
- Previous experience working in assisted living or nursing home environments is highly preferred
- Proven background assisting with ADLs, medication administration, and resident monitoring in long-term care or home & community care settings
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease is advantageousKnowledge of EMR systems for documentation purposes is desirable
- Familiarity with caregiving techniques including manual handling, Hoyer lifts, and behavior management strategies is essential
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within team environments like group homes or retirement communities
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks while maintaining resident safety
