Jewelry Sales Associate
Garwood's Jewelers is seeking a professional, energetic and motivated sales associate with jewelry, customer service, or luxury sales experience. We are a multi-generational, family-owned jewelry store in the heart of Old Town Fort Collins. For the last 82years, we have been the local jeweler trusted for all of life's special occasions. As a family business, our employees become part of the family. We are looking for the right fit to join our small, but effective team.
Our team services diverse clientele, assisting with everything from silver charms to engagement rings and anniversary gifts. Additionally, we do a large volume of in-house repair and custom design. Our on-site bench jewelers allow us to meet the needs of just about anyone who walks in the door be it a simple chain repair or piecing back together a family heirloom. As part of the Fort Collins community since 1944, building relationships with our clients is extremely important. We take pride in going the extra mile. Our sales associates must be willing to learn the trade and be able to effectively communicate with customers.

- Provide applicable knowledge and offer suggestions to meet customer's needs
- Take in repairs and process transactions with proper language
- Assist in opening and closing the store, inventory management and merchandising
- Develop and maintain customers through follow up and communication

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and traits:

- Attention to detail. In this business, details are extremely vital to the outcome of a project. Every item in store and taken in for repairs are documented in detail including colors, shapes, brands, cuts, styles, etc. There is a training period to learn what to look for, after some time it is up to the sales associate to act independently.

- Basic computer skills. We use email, text messaging, social media platforms, etc. frequently to communicate with our clients.
- Strong organizational skills. We have lots of projects, paperwork, displays, tools, etc. to keep track of, so contributing to the smooth operation of the store is vital.
- Great phone etiquette. We field many phone calls each day and must convey our commitment to outstanding service immediately.
- Willingness to study and learn product knowledge and store procedures. Often times we are teaching the customer when going into a big repair or starting a custom project, and need to be confident with the information being relayed.
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills. We have to quickly assess items for repair and/or custom design, and can encounter various obstacles. Being able to shift gears quickly and come up with creative solutions is vital.
