Duties
- Coordinate vehicle dispatching by scheduling pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems and vehicle dispatch software
- Communicate effectively with drivers, clients, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems and internal communication platforms to ensure smooth operations
- Monitor GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and provide real-time updates to stakeholders
- Manage documentation related to freight, shipping & receiving, and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, ensuring accuracy through data entry and analysis skills
- Oversee road transportation operations, including fleet management, vehicle dispatching, and compliance with safety standards
- Handle phone call management with professionalism, demonstrating strong phone etiquette while addressing customer inquiries or resolving issues promptly
- Collaborate with logistics teams using Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to streamline transportation planning and supply chain processes
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation planning, dispatching, or logistics roles within the freight or 3PL (third-party logistics) industry
- Familiarity with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or Vehicle Dispatch Software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective phone call management and internal communication
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to road transportation operations and shipping & receiving procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) for data entry, analysis, and reporting purposes
- Experience using GPS, GIS tools, and fleet management systems to optimize routing and vehicle tracking
- Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and delivering exceptional customer service
