Plant Up Educator/School Program Facilitator - In all Five Boroughs
Plant Up is looking for enthusiastic and reliable Plant Up Educators to help deliver engaging, hands-on learning experiences in schools.
In this role, you will guide students through interactive activities as they explore gardening, teamwork, and where food comes from. Our programs are designed to be fun, approachable, and easy to lead — you do not need to be a science teacher or gardening expert to succeed in this role.
Plant Up Educators receive full training and a ready-to-use curriculum, making it easy to confidently lead sessions and create memorable classroom experiences. The focus is on creating an engaging environment where students can learn by doing.
Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Facilitation
- Lead engaging, hands-on learning sessions with students of all ages
- Guide students as they build, plant, and care for classroom vertical gardens
- Follow a structured Plant Up curriculum designed for easy facilitation
- Create a positive and energetic environment that encourages participation and curiosity
Student Engagement
- Help students explore gardening and sustainability through hands-on experiences
- Encourage teamwork, creativity, and curiosity
- Make learning interactive, engaging, and fun
School Partnership
- Work collaboratively with teachers and school staff during program sessions
- Represent Plant Up professionally when visiting schools
- Help ensure programs run smoothly and students have a great experience

- Full training provided

Ideal Candidate
- Enjoys working with students and leading interactive activities
- Energetic, positive, and comfortable speaking in front of groups
- Organized, dependable, and proactive
- Interested in gardening, sustainability, or hands-on learning
- Teaching, youth program, or workshop experience is a plus — but not required
