Occupational Therapist (OT)
Status: Full-Time | Part-Time | PRN
Location: Galveston, TX
Pay: $50–$58/hour
Galveston Nursing & Rehabilitation is hiring an Occupational Therapist to support a therapy program centered on restoring independence, preserving function, and helping residents safely engage in daily life.
In this role, your clinical perspective directly influences how residents adapt, recover, and maintain the ability to participate in meaningful day-to-day activities within the facility and beyond.
Your impact as an OT:
- Helping a resident regain the ability to dress, bathe, and care for themselves
- Supporting safe participation in daily routines after illness or injury
- Recommending and implementing adaptive techniques that increase independence
- Working with long-term residents to maintain function and prevent decline
- Being part of progress that residents and families can see in everyday life
What the work feels like here:
- Treatment centered around ADLs, upper extremity function, and daily activity
- The ability to see progress in how residents function day to day
- Clear collaboration with therapy, nursing, and the interdisciplinary team
- A therapy team that communicates and keeps the day structured
What you’ll be doing:
- Evaluating residents and developing individualized plans of care
- Treating residents with a focus on ADLs, functional mobility, and independence
- Adjusting treatment approaches based on resident progress
- Providing education to residents, families, and staff
- Completing timely and accurate documentation
What we’re looking for:
- Active Texas OT license
- Skilled nursing or post-acute experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to adapt care
- Someone reliable and comfortable working within a team
