POSITION SUMMARY: The HVAC Mechanic’s role is to perform skilled mechanical maintenance duties in the inspection, repair, installation and alteration of District heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration systems and related equipment and facilities; perform preventive maintenance and routine servicing of equipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
employee accomplishes the following essential functions:
1. Inspect, repair, modify and install HVAC equipment including refrigeration and air conditioning compressors, receivers, condensers, chillers, water cooling towers, forced air converter units, pumps, automatic and hand valves, expansion valves and capillary tubes.
2. Observes appearances and conditions of premises and equipment: reports needed repairs, safety hazards or conditions requiring outside vendor services.
3. Consistently performs quality work and completes all assigned quality assurance processes (I.e. Checklists), addressing any noted deficiencies in a timely manner.
4. Informs supervisor when tasks need to be reprioritized and / or when assignments or schedules need to change, or when assignments cannot be completed.
5. Adheres to all policies and procedures, including those prescribed in the US&S Employee Handbook and the US&S, Inc. Safety and Health Program Manual.
6. Participates in ongoing training regarding job performance and safety protocols.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- HS Diploma or GED.
- Two years of documentable HVAC journeyman level operation, maintenance and
- Repair experience in the HVAC and refrigeration trade.
- Valid photo identification to enter the work area.
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol screening tests.
- Ability to pass requirements to obtain a security badge, as needed by the client.
- Authorization to work in the US as per the E-Verify database.
- At least 3-5 years of general building knowledge
At a minimum, the resume shall address and contain ALL of the following:
- The full name of the candidate
- A detailed description of the candidate's employment history for the previous five years
- The names and addresses of the companies for whom the candidate worked for the past five years, along with the names and telephone numbers of the immediate supervisors
- This position shall possess at least 2 years of recent (within the past five years) experience in directing operation and maintenance of equipment in a supervisory capacity, knowledge of the operation of site specific major pieces of equipment and system operation
- Also must possess verifiable understanding and experience in operating, troubleshooting, repair and replacement of building specific eqiupment
- A minimum of 2 years of recent (within the past 5 years) Siemens BAS systems, NCMMS ( or similar type maintenance tracking software), boilers, and chillers over 300 tons and other characteristics of the equipment to be operated and maintained under this contract
- EPA 608 Certification, A/C refrigeration operator certification, and one or more of the following certifications or equivalent experience:
- N.A.P.E Certification Air Conditioning III- Operations and Management (National Association of Power Engineers)
- Advanced Boiler Operator Certification
- International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) (Class 2 - minimum 1 preferred) stationary engineer
Years of Experience:
- 1-2 years’ experience employed in a similar role
- Prior training in Universal Precautions and Safety Measures.
- Ability to multitask and provide internal/external customer service
