Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, safety-focused Crane Operator to join our growing team. This position primarily involves operating 5-ton to 40-ton hydraulic cranes for HVAC rooftop equipment replacements, including the removal and installation of air conditioning units, condensers, package units, chillers, cooling towers, and other mechanical equipment.
Our operators work in a fast-paced environment, often completing multiple jobs throughout the day at commercial, industrial, and residential properties. Candidates must be comfortable with frequent crane setups and tear-downs, traveling between job sites, and performing precise lifts in tight or challenging locations while maintaining the highest safety standards.
The ideal candidate has experience operating hydraulic cranes, working alongside HVAC crews and rigging personnel, and communicating effectively with customers and field teams. A strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to safe, efficient operations are essential. Duties
- Operate boom trucks and other heavy equipment with precision and care to lift and move materials safely across construction sites residential or warehouse facilities
- Follow load securing rigging methods and load handling procedures to ensure stability during lifting operations
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and lifting equipment to verify safety equipment functionality and adherence to safety regulations
- Implement OSHA safety standards and construction workplace safety regulations during all crane operations
- Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences and material placements for optimal workflow efficiency
- Maintain detailed records of crane usage, inspections, load logs, and incident reports as required
- Ensure materials handling activities comply with safety protocol adherence and proper use of safety equipment at all times
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating boom trucks and hydraulic lifting equipment in construction or warehouse environments
- Strong mechanical knowledge of crane operation systems, hydraulics, rigging techniques, and load securing methods
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and OSHA standards for heavy equipment operation
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred for operating certain vehicles like boom trucks on job sites
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on cranes and related equipment to ensure ongoing safe operation
- Construction site experience combined with a solid understanding of heavy equipment operation enhances your ability to succeed in this role
