IHM School is seeking a collaborative educator to serve as a Part-Time Makerspace & Technology Teacher (one day a week) for students in Grades PK-8 for the 2026-27 school year. We seek a teacher who is committed to teaching students who are inquisitive and creative while implementing fun hands-on lessons that are geared to each individual student’s learning needs in the area of Makerspace, Technology, Engineering, and Design.
The Makerspace & Technology Teacher will design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned curriculum that fosters innovation, collaboration, and real-world application of knowledge. The role involves working with students across multiple grade levels, integrating makerspace activities into broader curricula, and mentoring students in the safe and effective use of tools, materials, and technology.
The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills, strong technology, engineering, deisgn skills, and a keen aptitude for integrating a STREAM-based Makerspace curriculum. The ideal candidate should be able to build a vibrant classroom community while serving the needs of a variety of student learners.
Candidates must possess:
· An Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Science, Art, Math, Engineering, or related field (or in the process of obtaining a college degree)
· Classroom management skills and experience with Makerspace/Technology instruction as it pertains to young children
· Previous experience working with or teaching elementary and middle school students
-Strong knowledge of STREAM-based lessons, hands-on learning, and technology
-Creative aptitude in designing and executing fun student projects
· Joy for the practice of teaching and willingness to be flexible
· Demonstrated communication skills with parents, faculty, and students
· Ability to utilize technology in a classroom environment and to integrate technology
· Commitment to excellence and rigor
