Job Overview:
The Site Safety Technician will be responsible for implementing and monitoring safety programs and procedures at various project sites to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:**
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Deliver safety training and orientations to new employees and subcontractors, covering topics such as hazard recognition, emergency procedures, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training, incidents, and corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
- Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout, confined space entry, hot work, and other permit-required activities.
- Collaborate with project management and site personnel to address safety concerns and promote a strong safety culture.
- Ensure all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and readily available.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Qualifications:**
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in construction or industrial safety, preferably in a field-based role.
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ANSI, NFPA).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to conduct effective safety training sessions.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various job sites.
