Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Crane Operator to join our dynamic construction and materials handling team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various types of cranes to safely lift, move, and position materials on construction sites, warehouses, or shipping yards. Your expertise in crane operation, load handling procedures, and safety protocols will ensure efficient project progress while maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities
- Operate boom trucks and other lifting equipment with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Safely handle loads by applying proper rigging techniques and load securing methods to prevent accidents or damage
- Conduct pre-operation inspections of cranes and related equipment, ensuring all safety equipment is functional and compliant with OSHA standards
- Follow established load handling procedures in crane operations to optimize efficiency and safety on-site
- Coordinate with team members to plan lifting sequences and material movements in accordance with construction or shipping schedules
- Maintain detailed records of crane operation logs, inspection reports, and incident documentation
- Adhere strictly to construction workplace safety regulations, including the implementation of OSHA safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, or similar heavy equipment in construction environments
- NCCCO certification
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to hydraulics, load handling systems, and general crane operation mechanics
- Familiarity with construction site safety regulations and materials handling procedures
- Valid class A commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial driving preferred
- Knowledge of load securing rigging methods and rigging practices for safe lifting operations
- Ability to perform routine maintenance checks on lifting equipment and identify potential issues early
- Prior experience working within construction workplaces is highly desirable
