Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to maintain hygiene and dignity
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Aid in mobility and patient transfer methods utilizing equipment like Hoyer lifts or patient transfer techniques to ensure safety for both patient and caregiver
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, including memory care strategies and behavioral management
- Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to create a safe and comfortable environment
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home healthcare agencies is highly preferred
- Hands-on experience working with geriatric patients or individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring specialized attention
- Certification in CPR or BLS is required; additional training in dementia care is a plus
- Proven ability to work independently while maintaining excellent client communication skills and respecting patient confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
- Experience performing heavy lifting or using assistive devices like Hoyer lifts safely within a home health setting
